Essential job functions
Core Technical Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive electrical systems in compliance with NEC and safety regulations
- Design and select power system equipment and components
- Create and manage 3D models of components, equipment and assemblies
- Generate detailed design documentation including:
- Power schematics (single and three line)
- Power calculations
- Floor plans and layouts
- Lighting and power distribution plans
- Grounding and bonding systems
- Cable management systems
- Fire safety and suppression systems
- Monitoring and control systems
- Testing procedures (FAT/SAT)
- Installation and maintenance documentation
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Prepare technical presentations and solution proposals
Project Management & Collaboration:
- Lead and participate in engineering team discussions
- Manage multiple concurrent projects independently
- Mentor and oversee design work of other team members
- Partner with cross-functional teams for optimal solutions
- Coordinate with Procurement and vendors for component sourcing
- Support Pre-Sales and Sales teams with technical expertise
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or a related field; Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in electrical design
- Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ability to navigate the current National Electrical Code
- Proficient modeling skills required, preferred in Revit and Autocad
- Ability to read, interpret and produce electrical construction drawings and equipment specifications
- Interpreting customer specification requirements
- Ability to research new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
- Demonstrates excellent listening and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Works independently and is highly motivated to initiate and accept new challenges.
- Proven project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while responding appropriately within the fast-moving business environment.
