Black Hills State University is seeking internal BHSU applicants for a Custodial Services Supervisor position. This is a working supervisory position. The incumbent will supervise staff to ensure campus standards are met as well as clean and sanitize floors, walls, restrooms, furniture, in institutional buildings and living quarters to meet sanitary regulations and enhance the appearance of the buildings.

Knowledge of:

Commercial custodial work techniques

Proper use of chemical and equipment

Effective supervisory methods

Microsoft Office Programs

Skill & Ability to:

Clean floors, bathrooms, shower, carpets and walls

Establish and maintain effective supervisory relationships

Plan and schedule work assignments to meet competing deadlines

Supervisor, train, monitor and evaluate work of facility workers

Communicate effectively; both orally and written instructions

Stand for extended periods of time

Lift up to 50 lbs

Be self-directed

Comments:

Experience operating scrubbers and buffers is desired.

Will work with a variety of chemicals and use ladders for cleaning windows and changing lamps.

Hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm am Monday - Friday.

Overtime, weekend work, and holiday work are occasionally required.

Previous management experience and cleaning knowledge as well as proficiency with electronic communication devices is needed.
