QUALIFICATIONS:

A. High school diploma or equivalent

B. Ability to communicate, read, write, and follow directions

C. Good health with average agility and dexterity

D. Possess physical strength to perform jobs that require prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters

E. Ability to climb/work at high altitudes on ladders, scaffolds, and/or roofs as the job requires

F. Knowledge of trade and tools

G. Valid WV Driver's license

H. Journeyman's skills in the application of principles and practices of the trade

JOB

RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Maintenance of positive work habits

B. Perform of duties effectively and productively

C. Maintain and upgrade skills

D. Perform necessary repairs and replacements as assigned and in emergencies as needed

E. Perform journeyman carpenter functions to maintain buildings, structures, equipment, and furnishings in facilities owned or operated by the county

F. Perform the installation of doors, hardware, windows, glass, floors, roofs, ceilings, shelving, and furniture

G. Interpret blue prints and specifications

H. Load, haul, and unload materials

I. Assist in training for apprentices

HOURS: 7:30 am-3:30 pm
