Summary:

The Carpenter is responsible for projects including construction work, all types of framing, including walls, roofs, insulation and vapor barrier installation, finish carpentry skills including installation of cabinets and trim, door and window installation including commercial grade hardware within the Samuel Simmonds Memorial Hospital, hospital housing, and all leased and owned housing property of ASNA.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform construction work, all types of framing, including walls, roofs, insulation and vapor barrier installation.

Finish carpentry skills including installation of cabinets and trim, door and window installation including commercial grade hardware.

Operate basic construction equipment, such as forklifts and loaders.

Read and interpret plans and specifications.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Communicate with customers and suppliers.

Additional duties as assigned.

Follow all safety standards, including OSHA and other regulatory entities.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Two years of construction trade experience or technical school preferred.

Two years minimum experience required. Three to five years experience preferred.

Prior experience in carpentry, preferred.

Certification and Licensure:

Valid Alaska Drivers license required.
