Hydraulic Design Engineer
Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design hydraulic systems for new and existing products.
  • Use engineering tools to analyze hydraulic systems to meet pressure, flow, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate with suppliers to develop specifications for products and components.
  • Develop project plans with input from engineering, marketing, and production teams.
  • Collaborate with production, manufacturing engineering, lab supervision, marketing, service, and engineering personnel during project implementation.
  • Prepare and review complete engineering change packages, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Utilize departmental CAD systems and office software according to company standards.
  • Coordinate project activities and report progress to engineering, marketing, and production teams.
  • Participate in the cost reduction process as necessary.
  • Evaluate products or modifications to determine performance success and user satisfaction, which may include travel to field locations or trade shows.
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as required.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design and/or engineering.
  • Experience with mobile equipment, project management, and engineering management.
  • Proficiency in 2D schematics; AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • General computer literacy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to design entire hydraulic systems and select components.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with complex hydraulic systems.
Work Environment

Work primarily takes place in an office and troubleshooting bay. Expectation is to be onsite five days a week, with the opportunity for twenty remote working days. The average team tenure is high, reflecting a stable and supportive environment. There is frequent interaction with installers and operators, providing variation in problem-solving and design requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $48.00/hr.
