Electrical Engineer

Job Description

Join a dynamic component development team focused on advancing electrification initiatives. As part of the Electrification and Energy Solutions division, you will play a pivotal role in developing inverters and DC to DC converters, key components for electrifying machinery. This position involves working closely with various internal teams and suppliers to ensure the successful introduction of new technologies and products.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with machine systems teams to establish converter requirements for e-powertrain.
  • Perform analysis and evaluation to select the best supplier options.
  • Work with suppliers and system teams to develop production components from requirements definition to validation completion.
  • Support NTI & NPI programs through communication with leads and preparation of design and gateway reviews.
  • Collaborate with global teams, including those in China, for electrical design, verification, and validation plans.
  • Participate in supplier evaluation, selection, and development, involving some travel.
  • Execute and support electrical commissioning and testing on purchased components.
  • Engage in APQP activities with suppliers for purchased components.
  • Document and resolve field issues.
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and shipment of components.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in e-powertrain DC converters and inverters.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development (3 years with a Master's degree).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in power electronics design and development.
  • Basic understanding of e-powertrain systems and components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with electric drive systems and/or components.
  • Hands-on experience in power electronics converters development.
  • Strong communication skills, especially with suppliers or business partners.
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments.
  • Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Experience in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience in power electronics component testing and validation.
Work Environment

This role is primarily based in an office environment with some time spent in labs. It offers the opportunity to collaborate with teams worldwide, providing international exposure and cross-cultural teamwork. The position supports high-visibility, high-impact initiatives within a cutting-edge electrification division

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $47.00/hr.
