Maintenance Mechanic Job Description In this role, you will be responsible for operating, optimizing, and maintaining assigned production equipment to meet and exceed production standards while ensuring product quality. Your work will focus on minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining budgeted waste levels, all while keeping accurate equipment logs and addressing maintenance problems. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure its smooth operation. Start up equipment and verify its accurate functioning. Monitor component inventories and safety guards to maintain a safe working environment. Keep the production environment neat and orderly. Monitor in-process quality and address any issues promptly. Follow safety and environmental procedures and adhere to Quality System Requirements. Support both upstream and downstream operations as required. Perform rework tasks as needed. Collaborate effectively within a team environment. Essential Skills in roles such as mechanic, maintenance mechanic, or auto mechanic. Experience in repair and troubleshooting, making adjustments, and predictive maintenance. Ability to perform mechanical PM on machines and make necessary adjustments. Proficiency in pneumatics is essential. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical experience or proficiency with 2 years of preferred experience. Knowledge of automated processes. 6-12 months of manufacturing experience desired. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics. Proficiency with basic hand tools. Familiarity with mechanical components such as bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves. Understanding of electrical components like photo-eyes, scales, reed switches, VFDs. Work Environment This position is a direct placement and requires working the night shift on a 3-2-2-3 schedule from 8pm to 8am. Extensive training is provided, starting on the first shift before transitioning to the night shift. The facility operates 24/7 with approximately 900 employees, providing a large and dynamic work environment. Onboarding begins on Mondays.
