The Class B Diesel Mechanic handles more complex repairs and oversees the maintenance of the fleet. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of diesel systems and the ability to lead junior mechanics. Experience working on Van Hool, MCI, Temsa, Freightliner, Sprinters, is a major plus. Familiar with Cummins and Detroit engines. - Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of tour, mid-size and sprinter type vehicles - You will perform reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance - Inspections and road tests - Warranty and repair documentation on all maintenance and repair work - Utilize computerized diagnostic tools for troubleshooting - Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages - Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions - Maintain work area appearance and safety - Ability to work independently without direction and to get jobs completed efficiently and cost effective - Respond to road calls - Conduct safety inspections to comply with DOT regulations - Maintain accurate service records and parts inventory - Test drive vehicles to ensure proper operation post-repair - Basic welding/fabrication Additional Skills & Qualifications - Minimum 5+ years of diesel engine maintenance experience - Preference is you have own tools, if not, we could offer a tool program - Proven ability to use hand tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments - Strong understanding of DOT regulations - Working knowledge and experience with Fleetio software tool is a big plus - Valid driver's license - Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, Email - CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is required, or willingness to obtain a CDL License immediately Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr. - Medical & Dental Benefits - Paid Time Off (PTO) - Uniforms - Paid Holidays - 401K with Match - Paid Training Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Saint Paul,MN.
