Lead Carpenter

About Us**Visscher Construction & Restoration is a growing, family-owned construction company located in West Michigan. We focus on Residential building as well as some Commercial work, including: new builds, additions, exteriors, and insurance mitigation & restoration.**Job Overview**We are looking to hire an additional lead carpenter that will help to implement our new build, exterior, and insurance projects. This candidate will be looked to as a leader - ready to lead a job-site and coach & teach the other carpenters on site. The lead carpenter will be responsible for making the necessary installation decisions, applying best practices, driving labor efficiency, and enforcing a clean job site. They must be able to work with minimal supervision, and help to enforce all health and safety standards on the job-site. The right candidate will have a good work ethic, show up on time, wear proper clothing, and possess their own hand tools & power tools.**Team Member Screening**At Visscher Construction, we take pride in bringing dignity back to the trades, with our Heads Held High (a core value we call "The 3 H's"). This includes passing the following screenings:- Motor vehicle report (we require proof of a valid driver's license and will review past driving records)- Candidate must also have reliable transportation to and from work- County/State/National criminal background check- Credit report screening- Substance-abuse screening**All Team Members Requirements**- Attention to Detail- Dependable - more reliable than spontaneous- Adaptable/Flexible - enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction- Physical strength- Ability to work at heights- Safety conscious- Agreement to comply with No Smoking or Vaping policy (applies to all job sites, company vehicles, and company property)- Ability to work as a Team- Adhere to 5S organizational principles- Assist with creating, revising, and following standard operating procedures- Participate in Continuous Improvement, including ongoing Suggestions**Hours:** Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (actual hours will vary by season or projects).**Compensation:** Starting wages at $22 - $30 per hour plus overtime and production bonus opportunities**Benefits**: Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and an Employer Match 401K Program
