Why You Will Love this Job: The Staff Electrical Engineer -Alternator Simulation will focus on synchronous alternator design,validation, and three-phase power system analysis. The synchronousalternators are used in generator set assemblies for standby powergeneration. The Staff Engineer will be a technical power systems expertfor engineering and other functional areas of the Rehlko Powerorganization. Technical emphases for the position include islanded andparalleled power system analysis, alternator performance, andcommunication on practical power engineering practice. SpecificResponsibilities: \* Develop wound rotor and permanent magnetsynchronous alternator electromagnetic designs using lumped parametertools, magnetic equivalent circuits, and finite element analysis. \*Work in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders to deliverand test working prototypes and validate first article productionmachines. \* Solicit best practices from internal peers and externalresources on machine design. \* Provide expertise and support to theapplications engineering group for customer and application-specificissues. \* Support education of internal and external stakeholders onpower systems fundamentals. \* Assist in optimization of new andexisting power systems for performance and cost. \* Provide modelguidance for power system simulation in Simulink, SKM, and other powersystem toolsets. \* Limited domestic and international travel (\ 10%).Requirements: \* Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Masterof Science in Electrical Engineering with targeted graduate courseworkin electric machines. \* Experience with electromagnetic finite elementtools (e.g., Ansys Maxwell or Altair Flux) is considered a plus. \*Demonstrated skills in communication and project coordination. \*Experience with reference frame (qd0) analyses, symmetrical componentanalyses, and/or islanded power systems is considered an advantage. \*Hands-on experience with electric machine testing is also an advantage.#LI-TB1 #LI-Hybrid The salary range for this position is \$98,900 -\$125,600.The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influencedby a variety of factors including the candidate\'s experience, theireducation, and the work location.
