As a member of the team at Detroit Salt, you will contribute to maintaining our company's efficient mining process and enriching our workforce.***Job Summary:**Detroit Salt Company is seeking a Diesel Mechanic that will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting heavy mining equipment, such as haul trucks, loaders, drills, and conveyors. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet and machinery are operating at peak performance, contributing to the smooth and safe extraction of salt. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and thrives in an industrial setting.**Duties and Responsibilities**- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, wheel loaders, haul trucks, conveyors, bulldozers, personnel transport vehicles, pumps, compressors and pneumatic tools.- Operate and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear.- Weld broken parts and structural members.- Check and fill fluid levels, service lube points and performs routine preventative maintenance.```{=html}```- Inspect and perform daily routine housekeeping as necessary to ensure a clean and safe work area.- Complete assigned paperwork accurately and turn in work log at the end of each shift.- Work safely, responsibly and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
