Project Engineer I, Alternative Delivery

RK&K is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to support the planning,design, and delivery Transportation Projects throughout the firm. In thisrole, you'll work under the guidance of experienced engineers and projectmanagers on projects of all delivery types, including Design-Bid-Build,Design-Build, P3, and other Alternative Delivery Transportation projects.You'll assist in preparing roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer(ORD) and contribute to technical reports, modeling, and planproduction tasks.This is a remote-friendly position; candidates located anywhere in the U.S.will be considered. Occasional travel may be required depending on projectneeds.Essential FunctionsSupport the preparation of roadway plans, profiles, and 3D models usingOpenRoads Designer (ORD).Assist senior staff in the design of highways, interchanges, and othertransportation infrastructure.Contribute to the development of technical documents including designreports, cost estimates, and specifications.Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to help deliver high-quality,cost-effective designs.Participate in design-build and alternative delivery project tasks under theguidance of senior engineers.Attend project meetings, site visits, and coordination calls as needed.Stay current on VDOT and other DOT standards and help ensure compliance in allwork products.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.Four (4) + years of experience in transportation engineering.Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD) for roadway design and modeling.EIT certification requiredInterest in working on alternative delivery projects such as Design-Build orP3.Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Preferred Skills and ExperiencePE license in Virginia or the ability to obtain within 6 monthsExperience supporting design-build or fast-paced project deliveryenvironments.Familiarity with applicable state DOT processes.Exposure to working with contractors or in multi-firm project delivery teams.Other DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work,knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (ascovered under ADA).
