Machine Operator Job Description The Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating both conventional and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) grinders and machinery. This role requires operating equipment that is either computer-controlled or mechanical, installing this equipment, and performing periodic tests and repairs to ensure optimal functionality. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with a strong aptitude for both computers and mechanical systems. Responsibilities Inspect parts visually before running machines to ensure they are free from defects and meet quality standards. Set up machines according to work instructions, ensuring all settings are correct. Make minor adjustments to programs to improve performance or address issues. Set up gauge heads for high tolerance sizing and calibrate them accurately. Inspect parts per process sheet to ensure they meet specified requirements. Adjust machines to maintain accuracy and quality of output. Dress grinding wheels and change diamonds as needed to maintain functionality. Deburr completed parts to remove sharp edges and ensure quality standards. Work with tight tolerances using digital micrometers and dial indicators. Perform daily preventative maintenance to keep machines in good working order. Use calipers, micrometers, and various gauges to ensure parts meet specifications. Essential Skills Proficiency in machine operation and mechanical aptitude. Experience with CNC machines and installation. Strong skills in the inspection of parts and production. Experience in machining and general production. Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and gauges effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. 2 years of experience operating CNC Machining equipment required. Experience with pneumatic and manual hand tools required. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email, are required. Why Work Here?
