Building Engineer

Building Engineer Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility mechanical, electrical, lighting, and other installed systems and equipment. Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems for 13 site locations. Assist with installation of equipment. Conduct HVAC repairs including compressor, condenser, evaporator coil, and condenser coil replacements. Troubleshoot and repair building automation systems for HVAC, including consoles, data gathering panels, and remote sensors. Maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, transfer pumps, expansion valves, and stop valves. Perform electrical repairs, including running and bending conduit piping, pulling cables, and maintaining electrical panels and motors. Conduct interior and exterior building repairs and maintenance. Manage stock and inventory control. Essential Skills 10+ years of Commercial HVAC experience. HVAC maintenance and repair skills. Plumbing expertise. EPA Universal Certification. OSHA 10 Certification. Electrical systems knowledge. Facilities maintenance skills. Refrigeration expertise. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with Daikin, York, Carrier HVAC systems. Building maintenance and repair skills. Boiler maintenance knowledge. Carpentry skills. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential for additional hours ranging from 50-60 per week. You will drive a company vehicle to service 13 sites between Rochester and Buffalo, managing 120-150 air handler units, some of which are up to 50-60 tons. Work orders are received via an iPad, allowing for autonomous work. The role requires working independently with a focus on delivering high-quality service. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Henrietta, New York. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $40.00/hr.
