Sandblast Operator Job Description As a Sandblast Operator, you will be responsible for removing carbon wicks and excess silicon from products using manual sandblasting equipment. You will load products and operate sandblasting machines, which may involve attaching products to fixtures. You will manage the operation of several automated sandblasting machines simultaneously and visually inspect the surface finish of products to determine the completion of the sandblast process. Additionally, you will prepare surfaces for sandblasting serial numbers into products using manual sandblast machines. Responsibilities Remove carbon wicks and excess silicon from products using manual sandblasting equipment. Load products and operate sandblasting machines; may involve attaching products to fixtures. Manage operation of several automated sandblasting machines simultaneously. Visually inspect surface finish of products to determine completion of sandblast process. Prepare surfaces to sandblast serial numbers into products using manual sandblast machines. Essential Skills 6 months to 1 year of sandblasting experience preferred. Understanding of basic shop math and safety processes. Familiarity with measuring instruments, abrasive tooling, materials, drawings, machine functions, and controls. Experience with SiC and Silica Sand Blasting Machines, manual and auto blast cabinets, electric and air-powered hand grinders, Dremels, various sanding tools, and measuring instruments. Ability to measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Open to candidates from an industrial production environment with a good attitude. Experience in sandblasting, machine operating, production line, finishing. The position operates on a swing shift from 2pm to 10:30pm. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hillsboro, Oregon. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38896.00 - $50336.00/yr.
