Facilities Mechanic Job Description Join our team as a Facilities Mechanic where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC systems and boilers, along with general plumbing, building repair, carpentry, and renovations. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and repair work on HVAC systems and boilers. Conduct general plumbing, building repairs, carpentry, and renovations. Remove snow in winter and be available for on-call duties as needed. Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. Read and interpret blueprints for troubleshooting and repairs. Conduct preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in HVAC and boiler systems. Experience in facilities maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance. Familiarity with EPA regulations. Work Environment This position is based out of our North Chicago plant with occasional projects at nearby locations. The work environment is a fairly clean and large chemical facility. The position requires working Monday to Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime. A 2nd shift is available from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 2:30 am as a Line Mechanic. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chicago, Illinois. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
