A Senior Architect is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This job leads and coordinates complex architectural design projects ensuring code compliance, producing detailed specifications and models, managing interdisciplinary collaboration, and mentoring staff to deliver innovative, constructible, and client-focused building solutions.

responsibilities:
  • Plan and conduct detailed architectural work, including original designs, layouts, drawings, and specifications.

  • Apply independent judgment to adapt and modify standard design methods and techniques.

  • Analyze design conflicts and develop innovative or practical solutions.

  • Evaluate unconventional materials, design techniques, and coordination challenges.

  • Perform building code analysis and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

  • Create 3D models and renderings using software like Revit.

  • Prepare and review cost estimates, quantity take-offs, forecasts, and change orders.

  • Develop and review material specifications, equipment documentation, and technical bid evaluations.

  • Write technical reports, proposals, and correspondence to vendors and clients.

  • Lead or support constructability reviews and coordinate with construction teams.

  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines, contractors, procurement, and clients on integrated design solutions.

  • Prepare conceptual studies, renderings, and feasibility reports.

  • Respond to field change requests and address nonconformance issues during construction.

  • Mentor junior architects and designers and provide guidance on architectural tasks.

  • Participate in and lead technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Architecture.

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, or 9-12 years for advanced roles.
Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience in facility design, layouts, architectural detailing, and building code analysis.

  • Proficiency in Revit and other CADD applications.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • strong knowledge of architectural deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and construction methods.

  • Understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and project workflows.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing.

  • Skill in resolving design issues in collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Architecture.

  • Prior experience with government or Department of Defense projects.

  • Familiarity with procurement automation tools.

  • Experience developing CSI MasterFormat specifications or using SpecsIntact.

  • Design experience following Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG).
