Senior Civil Engineer

A Senior Civil Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. This senior-level role involves leading the design and evaluation of complex civil/structural systems, coordinating across disciplines, and ensuring compliance with project, regulatory, and construction standards for infrastructure and facility development.

responsibilities:

• Conducts field investigations and client interviews to define work scope and cost estimates.
  
  
• Leads design, development, modification, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components.
  
  
• Prepares and checks calculations, specifications, drawings, material requisitions, and technical studies.
  
  
• Applies structural analysis knowledge (statics, dynamics, materials) to ensure appropriate material selection (steel, wood, masonry, concrete).
  
  
• Coordinates and collaborates across engineering, procurement, and construction disciplines.
  
  
• Designs facilities, roadways, site layouts, and grading plans.
  
  
• Resolves conflicting design requirements and unconventional material challenges.
  
  
• Leads technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and construction teams.
  
  
• Prepares conceptual studies, proposals, and cost/quantity estimates.

Skills:

• Skilled in facility, roadway, and site layout design.
  
  
• Proficient in CADD tools like Civil 3D, Revit, or MicroStation.
  
  
• strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  
  
• Knowledge of engineering documentation, procurement processes, and construction methods.
  
  
• Experienced in Unified Facilities Criteria and Whole Building Design Guide.
  
  
• Familiarity with CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering (or international equivalent).
  
  
• 5-8 years (or 9-12 years) of relevant experience.
