Job Description
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Drywall Finisher for an immediate start in Tampa, FL!
1 MONTH PROJECT - WEEKLY PAY
PAY: $25-$28/hour (based upon experience)
HOURS: Shifts will be 8-hour workdays, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
SCHEDULE: Workdays will be Monday-Friday; 7:00am 3:30 pm
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: 1+ months
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to assist with our project in a commercial setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing drywall installations to ensure a smooth and professional appearance.
Duties:
Apply joint compound to seams and nail holes in drywall to create a seamless finish.
Sand and smooth finished surfaces to prepare for painting or other finishes.
Install corner beads and trim as needed to enhance the overall appearance of drywall installations.
Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other tradespeople to ensure project timelines are met.
Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to accurately complete drywall finishing tasks.
Perform repairs on existing drywall, including patching holes and cracks.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills:
Proficiency with a variety of knives (e.g., 6-inch, 12-inch, and 16-inch knives) for applying and smoothing joint compound.
Using corner trowels or specialty tools to create perfect corners, especially on inside and outside corners.
Familiarity with using a mud pan for carrying and loading compound.
The ability to apply a thin, smooth layer of joint compound over the drywall surface for a flawless finish.
Blending joints into the surrounding wall without visible transitions.
Understanding the drying times for different types of joint compound and knowing when its safe to sand, apply additional coats, or move on to other stages of the project.
Requirements:
Must pass a background check.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
