This employee will perform job duties and responsibilities safely, efficiently, and accurately while assisting project management in coordinating and supervising work activities for Fabrication, Mechanical, Machinist/Millwright, I&E, and Crane Operator disciplines at chemical processing plant.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Position Highlights

  • Must have 8+ years of applicable industrial maintenance experience.
  • Must have 10+ years experience working on a refinery/chemical plant.
  • Must be familiar with maintenance execution, safety, cost, planning, scheduling, and maintenance systems.
  • Prefer 6+ years experience as a Superintendent.
  • Prefer Current or Former Zachry Construction Leader
  • Must have excellent communication, management, organization, and leadership skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Assists management in controlling maintenance costs and maintaining overall safety and quality for the site.
Examines maintenance schedule(s) and coordinates labor, materials, and equipment required for various maintenance tasks .
Monitors all work activities and instructs applicable supervision (General Foremen, Foremen, Leadmen, shift workers, etc.) regarding desired labor methods, required equipment, and material necessary to complete maintenance tasks.
Assures all production work is within maintenance/site specifications, continuously monitors safety, work progress, and quality of work.
Responsible for reviewing estimates and/or scheduling manpower requirements necessary to perform specific tasks.
Conducts regular meetings with craft supervision coordinating future job activities to assure continued safety, quality and productivity performance is met.
Inspects maintenance work activities and serves to advise applicable supervision (General Foremen, Foremen, Leadmen, shift, etc.) of possible hazards and assists all supervision in maintaining a safe work environment.
Coordinates with client maintenance superintendents, engineers, client/owner, inspectors, etc. to isolate sites design and/or specification problems and assists in developing solutions to these problems.
Maintains progress and cost data to assist in analyzing work efficiency.
Regularly attends and leads safety meetings and serves to advise craft supervision and employees of specific work areas and conditions that require safety attention stressing compliance with site/company and regulatory safety procedures
Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required
Identify all tools required for tasks. Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks
Manage workloads, supplies, equipment, and reporting.
Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain
Other duties as assigned
Demonstrated industrial history experience.
Must understand how to read and interpret technical manuals in order to determine work procedures
Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes
Must have reliable transportation

  • Must understand, support, and pro-actively work toward meeting or exceeding site/corporate/customer safety and quality objectives. Candidate is expected to lead by example in attaining these goals.

Preferred Qualifications

Current Zachry or Zachry ROFed employee.
Previous experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
Previous Superintendent experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical demands: Arm/hand steadiness, manual dexterity, finger dexterity, multi limb coordination, oral expression, and comprehension. Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools. Give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand directions. May be required to lift, carry, and move objects safely. Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel-toe boots. Work environment: Will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations.
