We are currently looking for a Principle Project Manager for our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Principle Project Manager will lead, direct, and manage every phase of large-diameter interstate natural gas pipeline projects, including those exceeding $1 billion in total installed cost. These projects are jurisdictional to FERC under Section 7(c) and subject to PHMSA regulations under 49 CFR Part 192.
This role requires deep experience executing major capital projects within the United States, including direct involvement in the FERC NEPA pre-filing process, certificate applications, and environmental permitting. The Project Manager will be responsible for full-scope project execution, including scoping, engineering and design, permitting, procurement, construction, and turnover to operations.
The individual will coordinate the pipeline project(s) with associated compressor and meter station facilities and provide oversight of key functions including right-of-way acquisition, construction management, budget forecasting, contract development, and schedule control. The Principle Project Manager must demonstrate strong leadership in a matrix organization and the ability to engage effectively with regulatory agencies, landowners, and community stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 20+ years of experience in project management within the U.S. natural gas pipeline industry, with at least 15 years managing FERC-jurisdictional projects.
- Proven experience executing FERC 7(c) projects, including leading NEPA pre-filing and certificate application processes.
- Working knowledge of PHMSA regulations (49 CFR Part 192) and applicable engineering standards such as ASME B31.8.
- Demonstrated success managing interstate natural gas pipeline projects in excess of $500 million, with preference for projects exceeding $1 billion.
- Experience managing large-diameter (30"+) pipelines, including projects greater than 50 miles in length.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams across project engineering, environmental, regulatory, legal, land, and construction disciplines.
- Experience preparing and managing project scopes, budgets, forecasts, schedules, and contracts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, contractors, agency personnel, and the public.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera (P6) or similar.
- Experience managing environmental permitting for linear infrastructure under NEPA, USACE, USFWS, and state agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to represent the company in public meetings, landowner discussions, and agency consultations.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50% of the time
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience as a Project Manager for an operating company or owner's representative in the natural gas industry.
- Prior engagement in PHMSA audits and inspections.
- Familiarity with FERC Plans and Procedures, especially as applied to complex, multi-state projects.
- Experience managing cross-country pipeline projects that include integrated compressor and meter station scope.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and/or MBA.

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering

- Civil/Mechanical Engineering, MBA, PE
