Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SolidWorks and data management systems such as PDM/3DEXPERIENCE, and a solid understanding of various manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, plastic injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing. The successful candidate will lead complex design initiatives, support junior engineers, and drive cross-functional efforts from concept to production. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential.

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks, ensuring alignment with functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Generate detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, GD&T, and design specifications.
  • Own the management and lifecycle of design data using PDM/3DEXPERIENCEplatforms.
  • Serve as a technical expert on DFM/DFA principles, applying knowledge of sheet metal, plastic injection, extrusion, and 3D printing to create production-ready designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of project milestones.
  • Lead and supervise hands-on prototyping and testing efforts; iterate designs based on test results and stakeholder feedback.
  • Manage multiple complex projects with minimal supervision, balancing timelines, budgets, and technical performance.
  • Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting for existing products in production and post-release environments.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.7+ years of experience in mechanical design with a proven track record of leading successful product development initiatives.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM/3DEXPERIENCE.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce robust, clear, and complete engineering documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects and collaborate across departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across engineering, product, and executive teams.
  • Experience in prototyping, product testing, and production support.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) best practices.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and agile product development methodologies.
  • Exposure to cost reduction, value engineering, and supplier validation processes.
