70-25 Engineering Technician (Water/ Wastewater Utilities): Report directly to the Deputy Director (DD) of the Water Utilities division of the Engineering Department (WUE). Perform various engineering, surveying, planning, mapping, record keeping and other related duties. These duties include general civil engineering field and office work to support the mission of the Engineering Department (ED). The position is part of an Engineering Technician progression classification that fills the position at levels commensurate with a candidates education, training and experience.
Requirements:
Engineering Technician I
- High School diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of related engineering, construction and/or surveying experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred. Ability to learn required.
- Experience or training with ESRI GIS software preferred. Ability to learn required.
Engineering Technician II
- Associates Degree in Construction Management, Surveying or related field.
OR
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and varied engineering or construction management work experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Experience with ESRI GIS Software.
Engineering Technician III
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
OR
- Associates Degree in Construction Management, Surveying or related field.
- Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and varied engineering or construction management work experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
- Experience with ESRI GIS Software.
Pay Range: $21.52- $31.60 per hour DOQ plus a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, annual leave, sick leave, holidays, and personal days.
