Description
Position Summary: The Plumbing Service Technician at Matrix Construction Services is primarily responsible for self-performing a defined scope of work under the direction of an assigned primary Plumbing Area Manager. The expected schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as required per the on-call schedule to meet client deadlines and respond to on-call emergency plumbing repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures quality control & safety enforcement meets company and client expectations
- Working knowledge of scope and ability to work independently once given direction
- Possess required skill set to self-perform plumbing related service and repair tasks as necessary for each job and as directed by the Plumbing Area Manager, but not limited to:
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing all plumbing related issues
- Drain cleaning and repair
- Leak detection
- Camera inspection
- Water service repairs, to include all types of pipe
- Waste repairs
- Water heater installations
- Fixture service and replacement
- Gas line service and repair
- Any tasks related to successful completion of plumbing repairs
- Manage truck stock
- Maintain clean working environment
- Follow all safety requirements
- Material runs for Will Call and Queued parts and materials at local suppliers
- Submit work orders/invoices as jobs are completed
- Submit receipts for all purchases including the correct purchase order number
- Daily communication with Plumbing Area Manager and dispatcher
- Accurately records all work hours and break periods via the written and/or electronic means provided by the company
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Requirements & Preferred Skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Maintains all tools to safely perform required scope of work
- Maintains company provided vehicle in clean condition, coordinate all preventative maintenance and repairs, and report any maintenance or wear concerns
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners, to include residents of apartment dwellings
- General trade level skill set relative to assigned scope
- Education Minimum: High School degree or equivalent
- Preferred Experience: Apprenticeship Programs, Trade Schooling, or Verifiable Relevant Experience
- Preferred Language skills: Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
Physical & Mental Abilities Required
- Physical: The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb stairs, use hands and arms, talk or hear, drive a vehicle, and use basic office electronics (computer, telephone)

Work Environment & Travel
