Position Overview: Loenbro Instrumentation & Electrical is looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician in the WY area. The Journeyman Electrician will work independently or as part of a team which will be responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of industrial equipment and systems. This is a project position for candidates who have a passion for safety, an initiative-taker, and who have experience in a heavy industrial environment.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for managing and serving existing accounts by analyzing work orders, planning a daily travel schedule, investigating complaints, conducting tests, and resolving problems.
- Establishes service by studying system requirements, ordering and gathering components and parts, completing installation, and performing acceptance tests.
- Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements.
- Ensures optimal performance of personal equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential.
- Maintains up-to-date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- The Electrician may be assigned other instructions and other related duties.
- Ability to layout conduit, cable tray, and overall jobsite installations.
- Work with and train apprentices on the job.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must be a Wyoming (or reciprocal state) licensed electrician.
- White Card certification is preferred.
- MSHA Certification is preferred.
- Capable of reading and understanding overview drawings, one-line drawings, and electrical schematics
- Minimum Journeyman Skill level experience in instrumentation and industrial electrical system.
- Experience in electrical and pneumatic process controls.
- Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Must be willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Essential Requirements:
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures, outside majority of the time.
- Work is performed on limited or restricted surfaces.
- Ability to work and maneuver in tight spaces, such as a confined space.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time for required tasks.
- If driving is required, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
- Use of respirator if position requires.
- Potential or Periodic amounts of time for the following:
- Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day
- Standing
- Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel.
