Field Service Mechanic

Field Service Mechanic Job Description As a Field Service Mechanic, you will travel throughout Northern Minnesota, North Dakota, and Northern South Dakota to service equipment at major packaging facilities such as FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. The position involves overnight travel for 6 weeks per quarter, with the remaining 7 weeks focused on servicing facilities closer to St. Cloud, including Brainerd, Alexandria, and Moorhead. A typical day includes driving to Alexandria, repairing conveyor or HVAC systems, and returning home. Repairs may take between 2 to 7 hours and could involve welding if skilled. Overtime is paid after 8 hours each day, and you will travel in a company truck with a team member. Every Monday, you will drive to Burnsville, MN, for route discussions, with paid drive time available. Responsibilities Execute preventative maintenance at customer facilities, primarily focusing on conveyor systems. Replace defective parts and ensure proper alignment and testing of equipment. Adapt and custom fabricate solutions on the fly as needed. Troubleshoot and track conveyor belts according to facility specifications. Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, and attach motors with precise tolerances. Connect couplings and belts with precision. Rig equipment and use dollies to position heavy machinery and parts. Work with electrical sensors and assist with welding and fabrication if capable. Essential Skills Industrial maintenance experience. Experience with conveyor maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding skills are beneficial.
