ROLE ANDRESPONSIBILITIES We\'re seeking a skilled and detail-driven ConstructionDesigner 3 to join our design team and lead the development of advancedelectrical models and documentation that support prefabrication andconstruction success. In this role, you\'ll take ownership of complexscopes, drive layout decisions, and ensure accuracy and buildabilityacross all phases of the design process using tools like Revit. Thisrole is ideal for an experienced designer who can work independently,mentor junior team members, and confidently contribute to coordinationefforts with field and manufacturing teams. You\'ll apply deep knowledgeof constructability, modeling standards, and project documentation todeliver designs that improve field efficiency, quality, andconsistency - playing a key role in the continued growth and innovationof our VDC team. \*\*\*Based in Hudson, WI with a hybrid work scheduleor fully remote\*\*\* VDC Development & Coordination: Create, manage,and refine 3D models for electrical systems using relevant industrysoftware Collaborate with other disciplines and industry trades toensure seamless model integration. Maintain project models in accordancewith execution plans and project-specific standards. Identify,troubleshoot, and resolve clashes between electrical and other systemsusing clash detection tools like Navisworks. Design Support &Documentation: Prepare technical drawings and ensure compliance withproject specifications and industry standards. Generate schedules andBill of Materials (BOM) from models to support procurement andconstruction teams. Project Management & Coordination: Lead BIMcoordination meetings and communicate with both internal and externalproject stakeholders. Assist in planning, organizing, and executing BIMworkflows for medium to large projects. Manage deadlines anddeliverables, ensuring timely submission of accurate models anddocumentation. Support the creation and enforcement of BIM standards andbest practices across projects. Software & Process Optimization:Identify opportunities to improve modeling workflows and implement newtools or processes. Train and provide technical guidance to Interns,Designer 1\'s, Construction Designer 2\'s, and Designer 2\'s. EDUCATIONREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalentrequired; Associate\'s degree (or equivalent coursework) in electricalconstruction, design, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experiencein BIM coordination or electrical design within the constructionindustry. Experience working on medium to large-scale projects involvingcomplex electrical systems. Direct experience using Revit for electricalmodeling; familiarity with Inventor, Navisworks, Revizto, and BIM 360 isa plus. KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Proficiency in Autodesk Revit;knowledge of SolidWorks or Inventor a plus. Understanding of electricalsystems, ins allation methods, NEC codes, and prefabrication practices.Strong communication and collaboration abilities across departments.Practical, hands-on problem-solving mindset. Detail-oriented andorganized, with the ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-pacedenvironment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professionaloffice environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipmentsuch as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and faxmachines. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionallyrequired to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. This position requiresthe ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand asnecessary.
