Panel Builder Job Description This role involves constructing control panels using provided wiring schematics and layout drawings. Panel sizes vary from common 30 enclosures to multi-bay interconnecting free-standing enclosures. Responsibilities include panel building, sensor installation, machine wiring, and completing temporary interconnect wiring for testing procedures under supervision. The position occasionally requires maintenance and troubleshooting tasks for plant equipment. Rarely, out-of-town travel may be necessary. Responsibilities Build control panels using wiring schematics and layout drawings. Perform sensor installation and machine wiring. Complete temporary interconnect wiring for testing procedures. Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting for plant equipment as needed. Perform point-to-point wiring of internal components, such as terminal blocks, relays, PLCs, motor starters, and drives using electrical schematics. Mount components inside control panels using drills, taps, and knock-out punches. Learn and execute LOTO procedures for testing or maintenance. Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience in industrial control panel and machine wiring. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and basic layout drawings. Proficiency with hand tools, crimpers, wire cutters, wire strippers, and electrical testing equipment. Familiarity with electric motor connections for testing. Knowledge of EMT, Flex, and Rigid conduit. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic tool kit required; specialty tools provided. Ability to use various size screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchet and socket sets, wire strippers, and pliers. Experience with multi-meters, files, hack saws, and drills. Why Work Here?
