Function as a technical specialist or in a lead role; applyadvanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods;expand knowledge and skill set in area of discipline; expand knowledge inother disciplines and/or functional areas. Continue to learn, remaincurrent and apply independent knowledge and interpretation about departmentaldesign guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes andB&V policies and procedures relative to assigned tasks. Prepare a varietyof complex engineering deliverables. Perform complex research and developrecommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Prepare complexengineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manageassigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Plan and conductindependent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineeringtechniques, procedures, and criteria. Review lower-level engineering workor assignments; oversee collection, assimilation, and management of datafor engineering work; lead smaller production teams; and serve as theresponsible charge for a project. Actively coordinate with all otherinternal/external team members on moderately complex projects. Assist withidentification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects.Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and developapproaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work onless complex projects; provide support to business development or pursuitactivities. Act as a technical specialist for the structural department havingin-depth knowledge of an engineering process and/or of technical aspects ofan industry. Design a complete project of moderately complex scope within anassigned practice area(s). Assist with performance management process,mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required. Applicants for this position must have work authorization thatdoes not now or in the future require employer sponsorship of a visa foremployment authorization in the United States (i.e., H-1B visa, TN visa or anyRequirements: Master's degree in Civil Engineering, or relateddiscipline, plus at least three years of related experience. In thealternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in CivilEngineering, or related discipline, plus at least five years of relatedexperience. Must have successfully passed the Professional Engineer licensingexam. Must have experience using Project wise, AutoCAD (orMicroStation), and Hilti Profis. Must have experience with the latesteditions of ASCE 7, ACI 318 and AISC Steel Manual. Must have experience inHigh Voltage (HV)/Extra-high Voltage (EHV) GIS substation design,including the design of structural steel and reinforced concrete foundations(shallow and deep / pile), as well as the anchorage of the structuresto those foundations. Must have experience with structural anchorage designincluding cast in place anchors and post installed chemical and mechanicalanchors. Must have experience working with utility clients. Must haveexperience developing deliverables and drawings based on calculations. Musthave experience using various finite element design software includingRISA-3D/STAAD, ETABS, Hilti Profis, SAFE, STAAD Foundation,SP-Mats, and SP-Col. Must have experience with development and distributionof environment loads, including Wind, Seismic, Snow, and Hydrostaticon various substation structural elements and components in accordance withapplicable design codes including ICC, ASCE. Must have experience indesigning the gravity (gravity columns, beams, slabs, decks) andlateral load resisting systems (Braced Frames, Diaphragms) of aGIS/Control building. Must have experience in designing the PEMBfoundations. Must have experience in designing the shear & momentconnections of two or more structural steel members. Must have experienc indesigning the crane runway beams and crane corbels. Must have experience indesigning the dead-end structures using the sag tension reports provided byTransmission line engineers. Must have experience in designing the TransformerFirewalls. Must have experience in designing the structural steel frames foroutdoor electrical equipment including CT, PT, SA Bus Supports, andDisconnect Switch. Must have experience in reviewing various vendor drawingsand cut sheets including GIB vendor data, PEMB drawing & calculationpackage, and LCC panel information. Must have experience with designingretaining structures including Dyke walls, retaining walls, and basementwalls. Telecommuting is permitted within a reasonable commuting distance fromthe employer's Denver, CO Office location. Up to 10% national travel maybe required. Must have good written and verbal communications skills inEnglish.
