Duration: 18 Months with possible extension Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am -4:30 pm Location: Primary: Byron, IL 61010, and other Midwest facilities upon agreement As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities: Prefer 4 years of experience or more (negotiable)B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required Experience in Design Engineering requiredExperience in mechanical engineering for industrial plant systems design, power plant analysis, and PEPSI Heat Balance modelingImplementation of Measurement Uncertainty Recapture Projects (MUR), orImplementation of Extended or Stretch Type Power Uprates (EPU or SPU), orImplementation of Turbine Replacement Projects (Turbine Retrofits), or Duties / Requirements: Authoring/developing design change packages in accordance with IP-ENG-001 industry design processProvide design engineering support for nuclear power plant refueling outagesObtain and retain unescorted nuclear power plant accessObtain and retain radiological worker qualificationsAdhere to Fitness for Duty Program to maintain unescorted nuclear power plant accessUpgrading major industrial components within industrial plantsObtain design qualifications to be completed with Client.Training provided for nuclear design process and proceduresProvide technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement and as a subject matter expert when consulted to identify and resolve equipment and system design issues.Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying technical engineering principles.Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans, packages, and specifications.Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses in support of technical projects.Recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
