Imlay City, MI | Full-Time | $35-$38/hr (Based on experience and certifications)

Join a high-performing infrastructure services company specializing in roadway preservation projects across Michigan and Illinois. We're actively seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to support fleet operations in both field and shop environments. Key Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems

Conduct scheduled and emergency maintenance on a variety of heavy-duty and light-duty equipment (e.g., pavers, rollers, skid steers, dump trucks, oil distributors, pickup trucks, and chippers)

Utilize diagnostic tools such as CAT ET and Cummins INSITE

Accurately log repairs, parts used, and labor in maintenance tracking systems

Support field service repairs as needed and assist crews with equipment readiness

Perform welding, cutting, and basic fabrication tasks

Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and participate in regular safety briefings

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

Completion of a 2-year technical program or equivalent experience preferred

3-5+ years of hands-on experience working with diesel engines and heavy equipment

Certifications & Licenses:

Diesel Engine Certification (e.g., ASE T2 or equivalent) - Preferred

Valid Driver's License - Required

CDL Class A or B - Preferred or willingness to obtain

Welding Certification - Preferred

Skills & Competencies:

Expert in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Proficient in the use of diagnostic software, power tools, and technical manuals

Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and DOT compliance

Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment

Effective communicator with basic computer literacy (Excel, email, maintenance platforms)

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive pay: $35.00 - $38.00/hr, based on experience and certifications
