Join Otis Elevator Company as a Senior Project Manager and take charge of transformative elevator modernization projects! In this dynamic role, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of projects, from planning and execution to monitoring and close-out, ensuring they thrive under your leadership. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and field management, to drive success. Split your time between the office and the field in a fast-paced environment that keeps you on your toes. The number of projects you manage will align with your experience and the PM level hired. Reporting to a Lead Project Manager, you'll have access to training and development opportunities to elevate your career.
This role can be located in Lombard, IL; Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; or Pittsburgh, PA.
On a typical day you will:
Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet all technical, safety standards, regulatory compliance requirements, and customer expectations.
Coordinate contract activities from the project award stage to completion, providing progress reviews to ensure documents align with the project scope.
Proactively communicate with stakeholders, including general contractors, owners, building managers, architects, designers, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies about project design, preparations, and installation scheduling.
Work closely with internal sales staff, superintendents, and senior leadership to achieve financial success and a positive customer experience.
Manage contracts and administration tasks such as billing, consultant and contractor payments, processing RFIs, and optimizing change order opportunities to maximize project cash coverage.
Accurately interpret construction contractual documents and modifications to determine cost impacts.
Analyze situations to assist in developing contingencies for project re-estimates.
Survey existing elevator components in machine rooms, hoist ways, pits, cab interiors, and lobbies before ordering installation equipment.
Prepare submittals, including shop drawings, product information, and specifications, for design approval, and route to customer representatives before releasing equipment for manufacturing.
Effectively manage the procurement of all materials and subcontractor labor required for each project.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
What you will need to be successful:
High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degrees preferred.
Minimum of five years in vertical transportation or construction project management.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Strong organizational skills for efficient project completion.
Advanced project management knowledge with task prioritization and deadline management.
Familiarity with cost estimating, scheduling, and contract administration principles.
Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
Team-oriented and adaptable in dynamic environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Teams).
Resilient, positive, collaborative, and problem-solving attitude.

The salary range for this role is $92,000-$115,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range and grade may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
