WestLand is seeking a full-time Project Manager/Principal Investigator to join our Southwest Cultural Resources team. This position may be based out of our Phoenix or Tucson locations. In addition to providing technical expertise in cultural resource management, you will also be tasked with helping to grow and mentor our cultural team and oversee the completion of cultural resource projects across the Southwest. In addition to project management and technical oversight, business development and client relations will also be key in this role.
What will I be doing?
- Leading and coordinating cultural resource technical research and writing technical reports.
- Creating and developing proposals including establishing budgets, schedules, and applicable resources.
- Developing proposals and identifying necessary resources for successful project completion.
- Managing and coordinating archaeological projects including scheduling, managing budgets, leading teams, and liaising with clients on field survey, testing, monitoring, and/or data recovery excavation projects.
- Coordinating with state and federal agencies, clients, and/or Tribal representatives to ensure successful project results.
- Building relationships with current and future clients and teaming partners.
- Leading and mentoring teams of cultural resources professionals.
- Participating in marketing efforts.
- Occasionally participating in fieldwork activities.
What qualifications are required for this role?
- A master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.
- At least five (5) years of supervisory experience on CRM projects located in the American Southwest.
- Must hold an Arizona State Museum Principal Investigator permit or be able to quality for one.
- Must be an expert in local, state, and federal cultural resources laws and regulations.
- Experienced in managing fieldwork, analysis, and report production for large cultural resources survey and data recovery projects.
- Experienced in writing and reviewing technical archaeological reports.
The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 annually.
