Job Title: Fire and Safety Manager

Department: Property Management

Reports To: Senior Property Manager / Facilities Director

Location: Chennai

Job Summary: The Fire and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive fire and safety programs across assigned properties. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement fire safety policies, procedures, and training programs

Conduct regular fire risk assessments and safety audits across assigned properties

Manage fire protection systems, including inspection, testing, and maintenance

Coordinate with local fire departments and regulatory agencies

Investigate fire incidents and near-misses, recommending corrective actions

Oversee emergency preparedness and evacuation planning

Provide fire and safety training to employees, tenants, and contractors

Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections, drills, and incidents

Stay current with fire safety regulations and industry best practices

Collaborate with other departments to ensure fire safety is integrated into all aspects of property management

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire safety management, preferably in commercial real estate
• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) or similar certification
• Thorough knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, OSHA regulations, and local fire safety laws
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
• Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
