Wood is recruiting for an Industrial Architect to join its Americas (PC) business focusing on architectural design and production support in industrial, chemical, energy, and paper markets. This opportunity is hybrid, based in Greenville, SC or Tucker, GA.

This role will provide architectural design and project management support for industrial facility projects from concept through construction. The architect will lead construction document development, code compliance reviews, and technical coordination with other disciplines.

Expected:
Bachelor of Architecture (5-year program) or Master of Architecture
Minimum 8 years of experience in architectural design
Home state professional architect registration (required)
Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Navisworks, and Bluebeam Revu
Familiarity with SpecLink Cloud or similar specification tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship
Desirable:
NCARB certification
Project management experience
Permitting experience in industrial settings
- Performs various tasks in each of the three project phases: Design Development; Construction Documents; Construction Administration
- Daily activities include problem-solving on both large projects and small consultations for project managers and other disciplines.
- Provides a wide range of architectural services while maintaining a sense of urgency and prioritization of tasks.
- Participates and coordinates the preparation and quality of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Responsible to review and rectify the design related to all applicable Codes and produce documents including Life-Safety, Egress, and General Code Compliance drawings and narratives.
- Helps to coordinate multiple-discipline overlays, construction techniques, and sequences.
- Effectively addresses problems and questions as they occur during construction.
- Writes reports such as feasibility studies, design criteria, and material recommendations.
- Assists with coordination of all aspects of other disciplines as they affect the building envelope and interior.
- The candidate will follow projects through approvals and construction.
