A Snapshot of Your Day

The primary purpose of this position is to perform the welding of rotating equipment components for the purpose of manufacture and repair in the Advanced Repair Department with minimal supervision according to manufacturing and customer requirements.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Perform welding repairs on steam turbine and centrifugal compressor shafts and components.
  • Read and interpret travelers, manufacturing prints, and technical specifications.
  • Set up welding stations and select appropriate weld wire per product requirements.
  • Weld in compliance with manufacturing specifications and standards.
  • Prep, polish, and inspect weld areas during the process.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure quality and accuracy.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automated welding processes and structural fabrication preferred.
  • Proficient in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and vernier scales.
  • Skilled in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and rigging equipment.
  • Capable of performing basic math and interpreting technical documents and diagrams.
  • Able to set up and operate welding equipment for various applications.
  • Must pass certification tests based on specific welding process requirements.
