Mercury Electronics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with working knowledge of electrical and control systems including those for electrical power generation and distribution systems and equipment. The candidate will work closely with Engineers and Production team members to develop and maintain production documents and processes. The position requires collaboration with employees in engineering as well as production support. The position also requires collaboration with engineering team members from our customers to implement new designs and design changes.Under general direction of the Engineering Manager, the Sr. Electrical Engineer will provide manufacturing and sales engineering support in our fast paced, dynamic environment. Duties include, but are not limited to:- Analyze customer designs for manufacturability- Work with sales, engineering, and production to develop harness and electrical panel designs to customer specifications- Provide documentation support to customer specifications by generating manufacturing procedures and reviewing supplemental drawings, BOMs, & wire charts- Project Management including planning and coordinating with sales and production to develop new products and help establish the resources required for production startup- Analyze current processes and implement process improvements- Research components & specify items required for customer needs- Support sales and production for existing product Qualifications/Requirements:Candidate qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:- Excellent organization and customer service skills- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team- Ability to communicate technical data clearly (both in writing and verbally)- Project management skills - Ability to drive project deliverables - Ability to coordinate project tasks and members of a small team - Attention to detail- The following experience is required: - Core knowledge of electrical system design practices, including; layout, component/connector selection, wire/cable routing and electrical harness manufacturing techniques - Ability to read and work with complex wiring diagrams and schematics - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)- The following experience/knowledge is a plus: - Experience in CAD (AutoCAD, or Creo/ProEngineer, etc.). - Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for soldering, splicing, terminating and troubleshooting of electrical systems - 2+ years of electrical harness design/development - Electrical system design tools or modules, such as; HarnWare, AutoCAD Electrical, Creo Schematics, Zuken E3 Harness, VeSys Design, etc. - 3D Modeling - Knowledge of military standards - Contract manufacturing companies - PCB inspection or trouble shooting- Occasional travel required.
