PROJECT ACCOUNTANT
The Project Accountant will work closely with Project Management on all areas of project accounting, reporting, subcontracting, and administrative issues. The Project Accountant will report directly to the Area Controller. The successful candidate must have the ability to multi-task, see the big picture, be detail-oriented, and have previous construction accounting experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-on transactional,pliance, and reporting functions including, but not limited to:
Effectivelymunicate with clients, internal team, trades, lenders, and corporate accounting.
Gain understanding of key contract terms and conditions related to finance and accounting to assist in bothpliance and risk management.
Assist in all project start-up and close-out activities, including record retentionpliance.
Work with Project Managers to review, code, and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices.
Work with Project Managers to prepare monthly owner billings, schedule of value updates, and owner change orders.
Maintain documentation of all SOV revisions and contingency use, including backup documentation.
Collect and record all pre-lien and lien tracking, including obtaining proper required lien waivers.
Track subcontractor insurance and licensingpliance.
Prepare, code, and process expense reports.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years' experience in construction accounting.
Strong analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Adnce topany policy and procedures and strong use of systems.
Exceptional ability to multi-task, prioritize, and executepletion of tasks with quality.
Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, mon sense, and ask for help or clarification when needed.
Excellent written and verbalmunication skills to create concise, clear emails and presentation of work.
Solidputer skills, with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
Experience in construction accounting software such as Timberline and Textura a plus.
