AV Design Engineer (Mid-Level) Hybrid - East Hartford, CT Full-Time | AV Engineering Team Reports to: Sales Engineering Manager About the Role Are you an AV professional with a passion for designing modern collaboration spaces? A client of TEKsystems is seeking a mid-level AV Design Engineer to help shape the future of workplace technology. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience designing conference rooms and integrated AV systems, who enjoys working closely with clients and cross-functional teams to bring ideas to life. What You'll Do + Collaborate with Sales Teams: Join early-stage client conversations, conduct site visits, and support needs assessments. + Design AV Solutions: Develop practical, high-quality AV designs for conference rooms and collaboration spaces using platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and integrated audio/video systems. + Document Solutions: Create system diagrams, equipment lists, and infrastructure requirements (AutoCAD/Revit skills are helpful but not required). + Client Engagement: Participate in design meetings with clients, architects, and consultants to ensure alignment and feasibility. + Technology Evaluation: Stay current on AV trends and help assess new tools and technologies. + Project Coordination: Support smooth transitions from design to implementation and assist with quality control reviews. What You Bring + 2-5 years of experience in AV system design, especially in corporate or commercial environments. + Experience designing conference rooms and collaboration spaces. + Familiarity with AV platforms (Zoom, Teams, Crestron, Q-SYS, etc.). + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and AV schematics. + Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word). + CTS certification is a plus (CTS-D or CTS-I preferred but not required). + A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
