JOB DESCRIPTION

A local contractor is seeking a Master Carpenter who will be responsible for overseeing carpentry projects, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and managing teams of carpenters. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess blueprints and project specifications to determine the materials and tools needed for construction, then plan and execute carpentry tasks, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget

Oversee journeymen carpenters and apprentices, provide guidance, and ensure that all work adheres to safety regulations and quality standards

Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including cutting, shaping, and installing building materials, while being proficient in using both hand and power tools

Inspect work for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to meet project specifications

Work closely with architects, designers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the final product meets the desired aesthetic and functional requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must have a High School Diploma or GED, along with completing a carpentry apprenticeship program

Must have several years of experience in carpentry, often starting as an apprentice and progressing to a journeyman before achieving master status

Must have rough and finish carpentry experience with the ability to perform a wide range of carpentry tasks

Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications

Must be safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and be able to work well with others in a team environment

Must be able to meet deadlines, stay with budget, and adhere to safety regulations and quality standards

Must have a solid work history with no attendance issues
