Boring Mill Operator Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manual Boring Mill Machinist to join our team at our Dalton location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up parts using overhead cranes and hilos, operating machines, and maintaining tolerances. You will primarily work with A36 mild steel and stainless steel, utilizing micrometers and precision measuring instruments. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual boring mills with precision. Use overhead cranes with up to 50-ton capacity for part setup. Operate fork trucks and man lifts as needed. Manually lift weights of 20-25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating manual boring mills and lathes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience with horizontal mill or boring mill for at least 2 years. Familiarity with operating forklifts and overhead cranes. Skilled in using hand tools, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic lifts. Ownership of 0-6" calipers, 0-3" micrometers, indicators, and setup tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Experience with CNC Boring Mills is a plus. Previous experience working with large steel companies is advantageous.
