Welder Fitter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter to join our team, with openings available on both 1st shift (6am to 4:30pm) and 2nd shift (4:30pm to 3am) from Monday to Friday, including most Saturdays. The role involves heavy plate welding, working with 1", 2", and 3" steel using Flux Core welding techniques, primarily for the repair of steel mill and metal foundry equipment. The ideal candidate will be tasked with reading and interpreting blueprints to perform the initial fit-up of welded assemblies, communicating directly with engineering when required, and working with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, both detail and assembly. Perform initial fit-up of welded assemblies and communicate directly with engineering as required. Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers. Operate overhead cranes with a capacity of up to 50 tons. Operate fork truck and man lift. Manually lift 20-25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Perform heavy plate welding with structural steel using Flux Core and MIG welding techniques. Essential Skills 3 years of experience in blueprint reading. Experience with 1 inch plate fitting and welding. 3 years of experience in Flux Core/MIG welding. Compensation Range is from $19-$22 based on experience Required 2+ years of experience Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $46000.00 - $60000.00/yr. medical, dental, vision, 1 week pto after 1 year of service Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in WATERFORD,MI.
