Concrete and Rebar Estimator - Amarillo, TX Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Rebar Estimator to analyze blueprints and project specifications to determine the amount of reinforcing steel (rebar) required for concrete projects. They need to estimate costs and quantities of rebar and related materials, often using estimating software. The estimator also supports bid preparation and works with detailers and other teams to ensure accurate estimates. Duties: Analyzing Project Documents : Reviewing architectural and structural blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to understand the scope of work. Material Takeoffs : Determining the exact quantities of rebar needed for a project by reading plans and specifications. Cost Estimation : Calculating the cost of rebar and related materials based on quantity, pricing, and other factors. Bid Preparation : Supporting the preparation of bids and proposals by gathering pricing information and compiling documentation. Software Usage : Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software to assist in estimating. Planswift experience preferred. Collaboration : Working with detailers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates and timely bid preparation. Communication : Communicating with customers and branch employees about the estimating process. Qualifications Previous experience in concrete labor or related construction work is preferred. Knowledge of construction site practices and procedures is essential. Strong negotiation skills for price discussions with suppliers. Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration within the team. Attention to detail in all aspects of work, particularly in construction estimating and cost control.
