Utilities Estimator Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wet Utilities Estimator to join their growing team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This position is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of experience in estimating wet utilities projects, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems. The Wet Utilities Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for public and private sector projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in construction estimating, a solid understanding of wet utility systems, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, growing organization. Key Responsibilities: Review and analyze project specifications, design documents, and site conditions to develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for wet utility construction projects. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure proper scope and material takeoffs are included in the estimates. Prepare detailed materials cost breakdowns. Utilize estimating software and tools to generate cost estimates and track project history. Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate cost information. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and contribute to the development of bid strategy. Stay updated on industry trends, material pricing, and construction methods to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency. Ensure all estimates are completed within established timelines. Qualifications: 1-2 years of estimating experience in wet utilities or related civil construction fields preferred, but not necessary. Strong understanding of wet utility systems (water, sewer, stormwater) and construction processes. Experience with estimating software. Solid understanding of local codes, regulations, and construction standards in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams, contractors and owners. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheet development.
