Job Description
Weld Fitter 2ND SHIFT
The Welder/Fitter will produce quality weldments in a timely manner within set parameters and tolerances. Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms and parts using knowledge of welding techniques, and engineering requirements. Interprets blueprints and drawings to produce specific weldments. Fit and weld parts to blueprints to form desired weldments. Trains others as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
List essential job functions that comprise the job; describe in terms of actions (verbs) and desired outcomes in order of most important first:
Weld and fit parts together in sequence according to blueprints to achieve best outcome. Ensuring all welds are to standard and penetrated.
Trim parts with cutting torch or plasma for precise/proper fitment.
Set Welding machine to proper setting for material thickness.
Remove all weld balls and sharp corners from parts.
Place parts on pallet with proper documentation to process in blast and prime.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School or equivalent
Experience:
Manufacturing experience preferred. Basic welding and cutting torch/plasma experience.
Certifications:
Welding school certification preferred
Other required KSA (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Working Environment:
Indoor building not climate controlled, high heat during summer months. Dirty and dusty environment.
