Pacific Conservation District is seeking a passionate and motivated Watershed Restoration Project Manager to join our team of resource conservation professionals based in South Bend, WA. This is a full-time, grant-funded position focused on implementing conservation efforts within the Willapa Bay area.

Position Summary:

The Watershed Restoration Project Manager plays a crucial role in advancing the District's conservation objectives. Working collaboratively with landowners and partners, this position involves the planning and execution of a wide variety of watershed restoration projects. Responsibilities include securing funding and overseeing all phases of project management for assigned initiatives and supporting other District activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in outreach and provide technical assistance to community members and Pacific County entities.
  • Identify and prioritize restoration projects.
  • Collaborate with District staff to pursue funding and implement restoration projects.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Manage the hiring of contractors and procurement of materials.
  • Lead project design processes, including landowner outreach.
  • Obtain required state, federal, and tribal permits.
  • Supervise restoration construction activities, such as fish passage improvements and large woody debris placement.
  • Participate in community outreach and education events.

Currently Funded Projects Include:

  • Implementation of a stream restoration effort in the Middle Nemah River.
  • A 3yr assessment of juvenile salmonid use of Willapa Bay.
  • Coordination of the Willapa Bay Lead Entity for salmon recovery.
  • A stream re-meandering project and barrier removal/correction.
  • Design for a County road fish passage barrier.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Natural Resource field; AND
  • Three (3) years prior work experience in a similar field.

Salary/Benefits

Starting salary will be based on experience ranging from $27.00/hr for entry level persons to $37.00/hr for highly qualified individuals.

Paid vacation, holiday and sick leave. Medical benefits will be paid per District policy. This position may be eligible for retirement benefits.
