Machine Operator

Machine Operator Job Description The machine operator will manage the operation and set-up of a Jet Edge water jet cutting machine, which utilizes high-pressure water streams to cut various materials with precision. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor waterjet cutting machines, ensuring proper functionality and safety protocols. Prepare materials for cutting, including measuring, marking, and securing them on the cutting bed. Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary to maintain specifications. Perform repairs after malfunctions to restore equipment to operational status. Conduct daily or weekly inspections of equipment to identify any potential issues early. Apply lubricants regularly to reduce friction and wear in moving parts. Remove dirt and debris to maintain performance and prevent damage. Adjust equipment to ensure accurate measurements and operations. Assemble and disassemble machinery components for repair or inspection. Shape materials through cutting, drilling, or milling to create precision parts. Ensure efficient operation of fluid and air-powered systems. Inspect and repair electrical components and systems. Identify and resolve mechanical issues through diagnostic procedures. Implement improvements or updates to enhance performance and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on machines, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs as needed. Essential Skills Experience with machine operation, specifically water jets. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required). Hands-on mechanical skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive projects. Spanish language skills are a plus. Reliability and punctuality. Ability to work under minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment.
