Description
General Shale is one of North America's largest brick, stone and concrete block manufacturers, supplying a wide variety of masonry materials for residential, commercial and specialty architectural projects. General Shale is seeking an Operations Manager for our Sales department. This position will be based at our Sales/Distribution Center in Chicago, IL.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Support the District Sales Manager in protecting assets, staffing, and daily operations.
Oversee store functions, merchandising, and showroom presentation.
Manage product support systems and train staff.
Follow all cash handling, key, and safety protocols.
Inventory and restock supplies as needed.
Coordinate with HR, IT, Payroll, and Finance to support programs.
Provide customer support and develop automation tools.
Assist with operations projects and using project management skills.
Ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness of loads.
Track and report MM/PS and KPIs.
Report incidents promptly and manage the locations Safety Plan.
Monitor and control the Operations budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, operations managements, or equivalent experience.
3 - 5 years of experience in sales operations or related experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. SAP experience preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership experience working with sales teams.
