POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for performing installs, repairs, and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, light commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units.
This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of guest's records, and promotes positive guest and team member relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, and outstanding guest service to fellow team members, guests, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines, and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The essential function of the HVAC Technician III includes but not limited to:
Check in with the office for scheduled jobs after the completion of each job and at the end of each workday.
During and or at the end of each task complete all company provided forms to the fullest extent possible.
Check in with clients at the beginning and end of each task.
Obtain client signature on company provided forms where applicable.
Upon completion of each task record time spent at each job on the weekly time sheet.
Hand in paperwork at the end of each week for processing in sequential order.
Ensure all vendor packing slips or invoices for each job are secured to the related job forms.
Ensure all materials used for each task are listed properly on the company-provided forms.
Assist on job sites with other Knott Mechanical technicians as needed.
Check in as needed to ensure the office dispatcher and/or field supervisor are aware of your status.
Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.
Call in repairs to the estimator or field supervisor and provide the necessary info needed to quote the repair and fill out the appropriate quote forms as required.
Consult field supervisor or dispatcher in times of uncertainty.
Responsible for assigned company tools that are in good working order.
Participate in company-wide internal meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position.
EPA Universal Refrigeration Certificate.
Limited Low Voltage Certification.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of two (5) years of experience, with basic refrigeration cycles to include: identifying components in refrigeration circuit, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the refrigeration circuit, using manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation, and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping.
Fully understands basic heating cycle to include identifying components in heating system, understanding how each component works, diagnosing problems in the heating system using a gas pressure test and other devices for routine maintenance and to troubleshoot. Fully understands the basic theory of combustion and how it relates to combustible fuels such as gas and oil. Must understand electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read wiring and advanced wiring diagrams. Knowledge of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values and be able to troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.
Fully understands the fundamentals of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air conditioning units. Must have working knowledge on how to; control air temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and distribution.
Fully understands the basics of multiple systems and how each component within the system operates in conjunction with the other components and how that impacts the overall operations of the system as a whole. These systems include air cooled, water cooled, hot water systems, chilled water systems, VAV systems, and steam heating systems.
Must be a minimum of 18 years old and have the ability to obtain and retain a Washington State Class III Gaming License; successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen; and have and maintain a driving record that at least meets the minimum requirements established by Lucky Eagle Casino & Hotel vehicle insurance provider.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; feel; or grip objects, stretch and/or reach with hands and arms; stoop; crouch or work in cramped or awkward positions; repetitive motions. This person may regularly lift and/or move up to 75+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus.
ENVIRONMENT:
The environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member may encounter while performing the essential functions of the position.
Indoors - you may be exposed to heavy smoke and fluctuations in temperature while in and around the Casino and/or Hotel. May also, from time-to-time, be exposed to noise from slot machines, customers, music and public announcement system, as is common in a Casino and/or Hotel environment.
Outdoors - you may be exposed to all types of weather to include but not limited to summer heat, winter cold, humidity, rain, snow, wind, and any other weather conditions experienced at the property. May also be exposed to normal conditions related to the position, i.e., low light levels, noise from equipment, dust, pollen, odors, wildlife, etc.
