At Orano, we're not just powering the futurewe're engineering its foundation. As part of our groundbreaking uranium enrichment IKE Program, we're redefining what a sustainable nuclear fuel production looks like for the next generation.
We are seeking a Nuclear Safety Manager who thrives in high-stakes environments and is driven by mission. In this role, you'll take full ownership of nuclear safety strategyfrom system design and integration to regulatory executionensuring nothing gets built that isn't safe to operate.
You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with elite engineers and regulatory experts, moving fast, solving hard problems, and making decisions that have real-world consequences. If you're ready to lead at the edge of what's possible in nuclear technology, we want to talk.
Objectives:
Own the full lifecycle of Nuclear Safety documentation
Manage the safety team for the evaluation and implementation of safety principles from reference plants into IROFS designs
Oversee and document critical system interfaces
Evaluate design changes against license applications per 10CFR70 requirements
Collaborate with the Licensing group on ISA Summary maintenance
Coordinate with various departments to maintain the Integrated Schedule
Manage Process Hazard Analysis, Criticality Hazard Analysis, Fire Hazard Analysis, and External Hazard Analysis
Develop and maintain Nuclear Safety Programs, plans, and procedures
Lead major system safety reviews
Ensure compliance with NRC regulations and safety standards

Ideal qualifications
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher-level position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field5-7 years of relevant nuclear safety experience
Advanced knowledge of NRC safety standards
Strong technical communication and documentation skills
Proven ability to manage complex safety systems and processes
Education Equivalency
Master's degree or MBA may substitute for 1-2 years of required experience
PhD may substitute for 2-3 years of required experience
Differentiating Qualifications:
Experience with:- Items Relied On For Safety (IROFS)- Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA)- HAZOP methodology- Risk Determination- NRC 10CFR70 License application process
Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field
Skills and Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of nuclear safety regulations and compliance requirements
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent project management skills
Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting
Please Note: The provided salary information is a guideline. Your offered salary is based upon experience, qualifications, geographic location, as well as market and business considerations.
Salary range annually: $140,000 - $180,000
